Who we are

Chippies Direct is a trading name of Chippies Direct Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17332615), registered office 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG. What we collect at this stage

During our launch sample programme, the only personal data we collect is:

Trade application: trading name, business type, business address, contact name, business email, business phone, and (optional) VAT / company number.
Sample delivery: the delivery name and address you give us so we can send your box.
Account: your login email and the record of your sample claim.
Line card & updates sign-up: if you ask us to send the trade line card or opt in to supply updates, your email address (and your name, if you give it).
Technical: cookies that are strictly necessary to run the store, cart and login.

We are not taking card payments during the sample programme, so we do not collect or store any payment-card details.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Verifying and approving your trade account — our legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
Sending your free sample box — performance of a contract (your sample claim).
Service emails (claim confirmation, delivery updates and the post-sample follow-up) — our legitimate interests. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Sending the trade line card and occasional supply and marketing updates — your consent, given when you submit the line-card / updates form. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and we stop sending them.
Fraud prevention and food-safety traceability — legal obligation and our legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

Our frozen-fulfilment and delivery partner, to deliver your sample box — we share the delivery name and address only.
Shopify, which hosts our store and processes data on our behalf.
Our email provider, to send the emails described above.
Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

Keeping it safe and where it is processed

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and sample-claim records for as long as your account is active. If we decline an application, we keep the details for up to 6 months and then delete them. If you sign up only for the line card or updates, we keep your email until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the store, cart and login. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will show a cookie banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, or object to how we use it. Contact hello@chippiesdirect.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
